During this dynamic and changing time, PICTFOR will continue to operate as a forum for discussion between Parliamentarians, industry, academics and other stakeholders on strategic issues facing the tech sector and we are grateful for your continued interest and support. As you may be aware, APPGs have been asked to limit the number of events involving non-pass holders taking place on the parliamentary estate due to coronavirus, so we are taking a number of steps to adapt to these changes during this period.

As the largest and most active APPG, PICTFOR are in the process of finding innovative ways to continue providing a forum for the internet, communications and technology sectors and interested parliamentarians to communicate on pressing topics.

  • Open call for input: How can the tech sector help to keep Britain’s SMEs going? How can the tech sector   support SMEs, the nation, government and Parliament on covid-19?
  • If you are interested in inputting to this, please send us a briefing of no more than 2 pages for inclusion by 31st of March 2020.
  • In addition, we are exploring the option to also hold a digital roundtable/call for our industry members to feed into this. One of our members techUK has been asked by Government to collate input from the tech sector on what it can do to help on the Coronavirus response. PICTFOR is conducting a similar complimentary step by seeking views on support that can be provided to SMEs and by holding a digital roundtable on how the tech industry can help to support SMEs, the nation, government and Parliament on covid-19. Following the session we will collate the minutes and written 2 page submissions from industry members and share this with PICTFOR Officers, industry members, DCMS, No. 10 and other relevant stakeholders and the report will be published on our website.
  • If there is anything that your business is experiencing as a result of covid-19 that you would like our officers to be aware of, please let us know.
