Minutes – PICTFOR Extraordinary General Meeting 2020

Election of Co-Chairs and registered contact:

  • Co-Chair Darren Jones MP welcomed the group and thanks all for attending.
  • Darren Jones MP then handed over the chairing of the meeting to Lord McNally, who moved to a vote to re-elect both previous Co-Chairs – Darren Jones MP and Baroness Neville-Rolfe – to their positions as Co-Chairs.. The parliamentarian attendees unanimously approved this motion.

Election of Parliamentary Officers

  • Darren Jones MP moved to re-elect Lord McNally as the group’s Treasurer. Parliamentarian attendees unanimously approved this motion.
  • Darren Jones MP then moved for a vote to elect all those listed and in attendance as Vice-Chairs, along with those who had expressed an interest in being elected but were unable to attend. A list of all those who had expressed an interest was shared alongside the agenda. Parliamentarian attendees unanimously approved this motion.

Update on upcoming events from the secretariat

  • The secretariat detailed the intention for a Welcome Back reception and Health Tech event in September, an Online Harms and Trade & the Global Digital Marketplace event in October, a Skills and Scale Up event at the beginning of November and the Annual Dinner on the 25th of November.
  • Lord McNally suggested that the group keep in touch regarding the date for the Online Harms event, so as to keep in time with the legislative agenda.
  • Darren Jones MP informed the group that he had spoken to members of the newly formed Online Harms APPG and suggested the opportunity for a collaboration.


  • Officers discussed potential future themes for events and the current business, industry association, academic, start-up and other stakeholder group members.
  • Darren Jones MP then thanked the secretariat and the members present before closing the meeting.
